But this summer we spent more than a week in Italy\u2019s Aosta Valley \u2013 the country\u2019s smallest region, tucked between France and Switzerland \u2013 and even in peak season, it felt like we had the mountains almost to ourselves.<\/p><p dir=\"ltr\">I wrote about it for <em>Appetito Magazine<\/em>: where we stayed, the hikes worth the climb, the cable car that takes you to the foot of Mont Blanc, a lake that mirrors the Matterhorn, and, of course, the food.
