One of my hobbies is digging around on Booking.com and finding bargains. Get an updated list of great value hotels in Catalonia – the Pyrenees, Costa Brava and further south.
Those that are suitable for a short or long weekend getaway, as there are plenty of them in Spain, with its many vacations, holidays, and long weekends.
Most of them are also suitable for children, but the most fun – without :)))
How did I come up with this list? After endless digging on Booking.com.
The places I looked for this time are rural, with rocky shores, slow, ecological, imbued with an atmosphere of calm and close to nature. Almost all of them are like that. If anyone has – I would be happy if you would share your opinion in the comments. If you have any more to recommend – feel free to put them in the comments.
So yes, I have a birthday coming up, and no – I’m not implying anything – this is a very detailed and clear request :)
A particularly worthwhile place I visited a few years ago is listed here with recommendations for trips and food in the area. Don’t miss it, it’s truly one of the best there is.

Secluded cabins in the heart of the forest, with a terrace.
The property offers bike tours, a fitness center and a garden.
The complex has a restaurant serving Mediterranean cuisine. Vegetarian, dairy-free and vegan dishes can also be requested.
What I liked was the fact that it was eco-friendly, relatively close, the spa and the indoor pool. As I recall, when I put this place on my wishlist somewhere a few years ago, it was child-free, or at least there were restrictions on that issue.
Now, in these difficult times, he even welcomes this segment of the population.
The design is very to my liking, full of natural light.
It offers diverse activities such as yoga classes, cooking workshops and nature walks.
Its concept is somewhat reminiscent of the Carmel Forest Hotel, which at least once was a major attraction.
There is breakfast, two restaurants and a bar.
Drive – about half an hour from the city.
An authentic family-run stone house dating back to 1748.
The original wine cellar still contains barrels from that time (!), while the oil pressing room has been converted into a library.
The hotel offers a spectacular view of Montserrat Mountain.
Decorated with natural materials in neutral tones, the rooms at the hotel have a large bathroom with a bathrobe and slippers.
The hotel features an outdoor pool, nestled in nature. In a beautiful lake area and stables.
The old barn next to the house has been converted into a restaurant and meals are prepared with organic vegetables from the garden. Breakfast includes homemade cakes, baked by the family’s grandmother.
A mansion that defines itself as a slow B&B.
Seven rooms in total, each with a different character – four in the main building and three more in a separate building.
The common area has a solarium, fireplace, and dining room.

In the city center, about a five-minute walk from the hotel, there are several cafes, bars and restaurants.

There are two restaurants on site: one is elegant and serves gourmet Mediterranean food, and the other offers a variety of dishes in a relaxed atmosphere.
The Emporis Hostel has a spa with a swimming pool, saunas, a gym and a sensory shower circuit. Electric bicycles and scooters are available for rent.
I have a friend who travels here every year for her birthday, and recently a very famous Catalan architect also visited here. Just so you know :)
